Dr. Kate Margalit is a phenomenal surgeon. As a fellow veterinarian, it is important to me that my pets receive the highest standard of care possible. I have known Dr. Kate for over 3 years and can speak to the exceptional care she gave our Sadie as well as other patients who also sought her care. She treated her like one of her own and every surgery went smoothly with a fast recovery. She was also patient and thorough discussing everything with me. I highly recommend Dr. Kate and Jewel Veterinary Surgery!

The surgery she performed was difficult, due to trying to remove the cancer that spread throughout the tissue on his back leg, and she was able to remove everything she could. Due to the surgery she performed and the diet she put Max on for his kidney disease, she added another great 5 years to his life (at age 11) allowing him to live out his life to the age of 16. Dr. Kate is highly professional, educated, and compassionate about what she does and would recommend her to anyone without hesitation!

Dr. Kate Margalit so graciously explained my baby's needs in terms that were understandable for me, and I knew that he was receiving quality care. Dr. Kate not only saved my dog's life... but she was committed to his recovery as well, and was incredibly helpful in proactively guiding me toward additional therapies that my fur baby would need long-term. Dr. Kate Margalit has performed TPLO surgeries on all 3 of my pups (5 surgeries in total). She was very communicative, compassionate, and explained everything perfectly. When it came to my sweet German Shepherd needing surgery, there was nobody else I would trust but Dr. (Kate!) Margalit to take care of her. Dr. Margalit's skill as a surgeon is unmatched. Her thoroughness, attention to detail, and bedside manner is very apparent and really puts your mind at ease as a pet owner. I knew my girl was in the best hands. Dr. Margalit came to Seneca Animal Hospital so we didn't have to go to Greenville. She called me a few days before the surgery to let me know what to expect…on the day of the surgery to let me know that they were about to begin, and called me after the surgery to let me know all went great.
Since the surgery about a month ago, Penny is acting like a puppy again! She has a smile on her face like we hadn't seen in a while. I took her back to Dr. Traber for a check up, she said she didn't even feel any scarring! Thank you so much Dr. Margalit for giving me back a 6 year old puppy!

Dr. Kate was amazing with our cat that broke his front leg. She performed his surgery and put in a plate and some screws. She did an excellent job with explaining the procedure before and after. She was readily available to answer all of my questions. She helped change meds so we could keep him happy while he recovered! If you find your position to need her skills, I would 10/10 recommend!

I am a practicing veterinarian, and my Siberian Husky ruptured a major ligament in right knee (cranial cruciate). We took him to Dr. Margalit because the repair procedure needed for dogs over 40 lbs. requires a special technique and equipment that GPs like me do not typically use. Surgery was a success. But one of the most important aspect of healing is adherence to her detailed regimen of controlled exercise for rehab. However, thinking you are done when the limp is gone is not good. Follow the instructions please! He's doing great with only the shaved leg for evidence of surgery.

We are so very thankful for Jewel Veterinary Surgery. Dr. Kate took wonderful care with Keegan. When Dr. Kate called the day after surgery to check on her, I asked if Keegan would return to her high energy self. She sure has! The Lick Sleeve has been very helpful keeping Keegan from trying to lick at the wound. We know we still have quite a few weeks of keeping her quiet and low key, but Keegan is doing great!
